About the Blessing Center
What is Blessing Based Spiritual Nurture?

Blessing Based Spiritual Nurture is a phrase used to describe ministries which practice nurture, prayer and worship, living Sabbath, holy listening, hospitality, community and blessing. Through the process of Blessing Based Spiritual Nurture children and others are assisted in identifying, maintaining and deepening their spirituality, their connection to communities of faith, and their relationship with God and the world.

We believe in the Holiness of children. That is, that each person is born in the image of God. Children have a natural and instinctual spiritual connection to God, providing the basis for their growth in faith and life, in healing and in the ability to solve problems, and can be a means to maintain or heighten self esteem, which allows people of all ages to truly care for others. (Matthew 22:37-40)

Blessing Based Spiritual Nurture begins with the belief that children are blessed with innate spiritual strength. When assisted in identifying, claiming and strengthening that spirit, they are able to maintain their connection with God throughout life. Children can discover, with God’s help, in relationship with caring adults who are with them on their journey through life, how they can best thrive, cope and, when needed, heal. This becomes especially important in traumatic times and during crisis, as they grow to become the children, teenagers, and adults God has called them to be.

Blessing Center ministries to all ages are built upon this understanding of children, and the faith that God’s blessing of enabling vitality gifted to humankind in the book of Genesis, can be uncovered and drawn upon throughout life.
